Riot Games and ESL have recently unveiled some details about the remodeling European Masters 2019. On this occasion, the final will take place between 27 and 28 April at the Leicester Haymarket Theater. The English city will be hosting 16 teams and will distribute 150,000 euros among the best in the Old Continent.
The format of the European Masters will first host a play. In the stage, we will see seven squads from Spain, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Balkans, Nordic Countries and Poland (one per region). From this phase, only three teams will go to the Group Stage. They will join the thirteen champions of each of the regional leagues. The organizers explained the format in an official statement.
Format
The winner of the play-in will go to the main event of the European Masters. Those classified from second to fifth place in the play-in will play a tie, second against fifth, third against fourth. While the winners of those matches will continue their way to the main event.
The second phase of the European Masters will have 16 teams, 13 winners of each of the regional leagues, and the three teams of the play-in. In this phase, the clubs will be divided into four groups of four squads each. The two best teams in each group will go through a direct elimination phase.
This part of the event will follow the best of three format. The four teams that emerge victoriously will face each other in the English countryside at the end of April. The semifinals will also be disputed to the best of three. However, the grand finals will be in the best of five matches.
Beko Sponsors LEC
The biggest League of Legends competition in the world, at least in the West, has announced a new sponsorship. This time the LEC will collaborate with Beko, a well-known brand of Turkish household appliances. Beko over the year made a big name for itself in traditional sports. Since from February 2018, they are sponsoring FC Barcelona. The agreement signed between LEC and Beko will incorporate the Eat Like a Pro initiative, focused on healthy eating for all ages.
Originally, Beko’s proposal was to educate the parents and children the importance of healthy eating. Within Eat Like a Pro, it showed what and how some of the most prominent athletes in the world ate. Now, this initiative also seems to be expanding as the make a move in LCK.

Taking into account the competitive scene known to date in League of Legends, it seems that Beko products may not come under the spotlight. Since LEC is not where you come to shop for household appliances. But who knows, Beko might put a washing machine in the headquarters of each team.
LEC’s work to attract non-endemic brands to electronic sports is commendable. During this first spring, the league secured partnerships of some important names like Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Shell, and Red Bull.
