The first event that will take place during the new partnership is the upcoming CS:GO Major in Belgium. Both entities also announced that IMG will also work alongside and leverage the expertise of another company, talent management and brand consulting firm RTS.
Launched last year, RTS is co-founded by streamer Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys, who also serves as the company’s Chief Creative Officer.
Joe Jenkins, Commercial Manager, IMG’s media business, commented: “We were excited to work with the PGL on last year’s CS:GO Major which saw a record peak audience of 2.74m viewers, 120 hours of broadcast airtime and the tournament being distributed in 27 languages. Stockholm 2021 was the most successful CS:GO event of all time and we are looking forward to working with PGL again and continuing this success in 2022.”
PGL and IMG have been working together since 2018. According to the release, IMG has played an important role for PGL by securing a number of media rights deals for its large esports events.

Silviu Stroie, CEO, PGL, added: “We are looking forward to working with IMG again on our rights portfolio this year as well as expanding our relationship as our exclusive partnership agency. We will be utilising IMG’s global reach and expertise to extend into new territories and grow audiences worldwide.”
Esports Insider says: It’s good to see two companies continue to work together after almost four years. IMG’s support will be crucial in PGL’s efforts to bring events to even broader audiences, as well as secure more partnerships with brands along the way.
