Windows 10 users have fallen foul to another botched Microsoft OS update. On March 1, 2019, the tech giant rolled out Windows Update KB4482887 to address a heap of OS issues, however, in the patching process, as is becoming Microsoft’s signature style, inadvertently created a few more. Multiple user reports indicate the patch negatively impacts gaming performance in Destiny 2 and Call of Duty, causing significant mouse stuttering and graphics degradation.

The simple solution to the problem is to uninstall the update, Microsoft says. Details on how to do that below for the afflicted. However, a more permanent fix for the issue is currently being worked on by the Windows team, and users are hoping it will push the update out tomorrow, March 12, 2019, known to the tech world as ‘Patch Tuesday’.  The day often falls on the second Tuesday of the month and is when Microsoft takes its latest fixes public.

After installing KB4482887, users may notice graphics and mouse performance degradation with desktop gaming when playing certain games, such as Destiny 2,” Microsoft says on the Windows update support page. “Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release. As a short-term resolution, users can uninstall KB4482887 to regain performance.”
