NBA 2K League team Magic Gaming has announced a partnership with GT Omega Racing as their official gaming chair. The partnership will bring GT Omega Racing chairs into the Magic Gaming studio for players and coaches to use.
Gabriel Cause, Partnership Development Manager for Magic Gaming said: “We are excited to partner with GT Omega Racing and the opportunity to collectively grow our brands. In preparation for our upcoming NBA 2K season, we look forward to surprising fans with many opportunities to join in our partnership.”
Magic Gaming is part of the Orlando Magic, one of 17 NBA teams that signed on to NBA’s esports league featuring Take-Two’s video game NBA 2K. The league is getting ready for its second season, announcing an expansion last year to bring four more teams into the fold. They’ve also recently announced sponsorships for the league with brands like AT&T and Champion.
Magic Gaming’s partnership will last throughout the season, featuring opportunities for fans to participate in giveaways and receive discounts of GT Omega Racing chairs. GT Omega Racing CEO Leo Wong said: “We are absolutely thrilled to begin our partnership with Magic Gaming. To team up with a globally recognized organization who is only moving from strength to strength as they grow into the diverse, and rapidly expanding gaming and esports community is nothing short of a dream come true for us.”
The NBA 2K League’s inaugural season was won by Knicks Gaming and lasted 17 weeks, starting from May last year. This season will begin in early April, with the total prize money increasing to $1.2m (£919,000) from $1m (£766,000) last season.
Esports Insider says: It’s great to see more sponsors get in on more focused endorsements, as it’s a good sign that the teams and players are getting attention rather than just the league itself. The additional signings of AT&T and Champion also bode well for the league overall and the second season is shaping up nicely.
