UK-based esports job website HitmarkerJobs.com has announced a partnership with the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
The deal will see HitmarkerJobs.com help with the promotion of UCI’s Division of Continuing Education’s online esports courses. A three-month agreement has been reached, though it is expected to be renewed.
HitmarkerJobs.com will promote UCI’s Esports Management course on the homepage of its website and through its social channels, as well as co-hosting a webinar based on ‘Esports Career Planning’ with staff from the university.
Rich Huggan, Managing Director of HitmarkerJobs.com discussed the partnership: “We’re really excited to be able to announce this initial partnership and to be able to assist the great people at UCI with promoting their program. When they approached us about working together we looked into the legitimacy of their course and instructors, in order to ensure the users that sign up to it receive high-quality esports education from professionals that really know the scene. We believe that the courses from UCI’s Division of Continuing Education provide exactly that, and we’re delighted to be able to offer them to our user-base at a discounted rate.”
The online courses aim to “teach students key skills such as the ability to develop effective communications for an esports audience”. It’ll also cover driving interaction from esports fans on social media and how to use project management skills to run an esports event.
Stephane Muller, Director of Business Programs at UCI DCE added: “Esports is a rapidly changing industry with a variety of career opportunities created every day. To partner with an organization that offers such a valuable service to professionals looking for work in the industry felt natural to our team. We know that our students will appreciate learning about all that Hitmarker is doing to connect growing esports organizations with talent from around the world.”
Esports Insider says: This partnership seems like a good fit, equipping prospective or current members of the industry with the ability to learn more about esports as a business. HitmarkerJobs.com has a lot of data and appeals to a good portion of the market, so UCI has made a solid choice.
