As evidence of the ambitions nurtured by this promising pro player, we find the enthusiastic trailer made by FaZe Clan to celebrate his arrival into the team. The controversial choice made by the giant of the eSport scene to recruit such a young Fortnite Battle Royale player is already causing mixed reactions in the community of Epic’s multiplayer shooter.
Epic Games got no chill
The creators of the Fortnite phenomenon claim that they have 85 million registered users and that 40% of them do not have a Steam account.
Epic Games has shared interesting data within the framework of the GDC 2019. The most interesting stats are pertaining to its new digital store, Epic Games Store. As it has exclusively signed 85 million users. This is no big news owing to the success of the platform. However, what catches our eye is that Epic claims that 40% of them do not have a Steam Account.
The makers of Epic Game Store have shared some of the most interesting statistics about their new online store. So much so, that they revealed that 68% of its users do not use Steam regularly. A rather striking percentage if we take into account the massive influx of PC players on the extended Valve platform.
On the other hand, according to the data collected by Epic Games, most PC users with an account in Epic Games Store prefer to play on consoles than on Steam. All the data have been collected since last August 2018 until January 2019.
The numbers follow
Epic Games adds that currently, its digital store has approximately registered 55,000 creators with the support of up to 41 million users. Tim Sweeney, the founder of Epic Games and Fortnite assures that Epic Games Store will welcome more and more developers in 2019. The platform will deliver quality games and will take strict measure to avoid pornographic or inappropriate content.
Recently, Tim Sweeney himself was forceful about the contents of Epic Games Store that it will not welcome “trash” titles. On the other hand, Epic Games Store has introduced the roadmap planned for this year with numerous updates in order to improve the service.
