ESL one Mumbai is Indian’s biggest indoor stadium esports event. The tournament will feature a massive prize pool of $300,000 and will have top Dota 2 International teams in attendance. It takes place at the NSCI Dome In Mumbai from April 19-21, 2019.
This is the first big Dota 2 event [ of such a scale ] in India. It is a market which ESL and Dreamhack have their eyes on. Last year, we saw Dreamhack Mumbai take place amidst much fanfare. It was a BYOC event with an invitational featuring CS: GO and Dota 2.
ESL has announced the names of the teams which received invites to the Closed qualifiers. ESL One Mumbai will have four qualifiers [ apart from the local qualifiers for the solo Indian spot]. These closed qualifiers are from Europe/CIS, North America, Greater China and Asia.
Here is a list of the teams invited to the Closed qualifier.
Europe / CIS
- Date: February 27 – March 1
- Teams: Alliance & Na’Vi.
South East Asia
- Date: February 27 – March 1
- Teams: Lotac, TNC Predator
Greater China
- Date: February 27 – March 1
- Teams: Keen Gaming, Royale Never Give up.
Americas
- Date: February 27 – March 1
- Teams: J.Storm, Team Team
Each qualifier will have Best of Three matches. The Grand finals will be a Best of Five series. The qualifiers will have a double elimination format. The team in the Grand final via the upper semifinal route will have a one-game advantage.

ESL One Mumbai 2019 will have a total of 12 teams at the event. One spot is reserved for a local Indian team. Four teams will qualify via the closed qualifiers. The remaining seven teams will receive direct invites to the $300,000 event.
