Epic Games has published the rules and schedule for the qualifiers of the Fortnite World Cup. To get to the final tournament and compete for the prize pool of $ 40 million dollars, players will have to go through three rounds of qualifiers. The first qualifying week will begin on April 13th.
Rules:
Only players over the age of 13 who have enabled two-factor account authentication and have a minimum account level 15 can participate in the qualifiers. These rules are the same for all platforms and regions.
Qualifying
Fortnite will distribute a million dollars each week. Tournaments for single and double modes will alternate.
First stage:
Arena Mode is a special tournament mode that will be available at any time. It will enable the screening of weak players. While the stronger participants will be allowed to skip the second qualifying stage. The mode will appear with patch 8.20.
Second Stage:
All players who have passed through Arena Mode will be able to participate in the second stage. Every Saturday they will have three hours to score the most points in 10 matches. Three thousand players from each region will pass through to the third stage.
Third Stage:
In the third qualifying round, participants must again score as many points as possible in three hours / 10 matches. After the completion of the stage, the organizers will check the results and personal data of the players to determine who will progress to the finals.
Note:
Each week during the qualifying session, 1 million dollars will be put into play and will be distributed amongst the best players of the session. At the end of the 10 qualifying sessions, the top 100 solo players and the top 50 duel teams will compete in the grand final of the World Championships in New York from July 26-28.
In order to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup Grand Final, players in the duo tournaments will have to play with the same teammate all weekend. Nevertheless, you can change partners from one week to the next.
The winner of the solo tournament will win $ 3 million, all participants in the final will win at least $ 50,000 out of the total cash prize of $ 30 million that will be distributed during the 3 days of the final.
Points Distribution:
- Royal Victory: +3 points (+10 total)
- 2nd to 5th: +2 points (+7 total)
- 6th to 10th: +2 points (+5 total)
- 11th to 25th: +3 points (+3 total)
- Each kill: +1 point
Patch 8.20
On March 27, Fortnite developers will release update 8.20 to the main server. The update will include the tournament mode, Arena Mode, as well as a temporary mode “Paul is lava.”

The last major update in the “Royal Battle” from Epic Games was the patch 8.11, which was released on March 20. The update added a new pistol and returned the impulse grenade. While the damage of some weapons was also buffed.
