Road to TI9
The tournament will also be the third major in Europe, with the current Stockholm’s Dream League and Paris’s MDL Disneyland on May 4-12. In the first two major tournaments of the season, Virtus.pro and Team Secret were the victorious teams. Russian teams, and especially Virtus.pro, will be competing in their own backyard in this tournament.
The top 12 of the DPC 2018-2019 score table will be invited to compete at The International 2019, while the remaining 6 teams will come from the regional qualifying round for each team. The International 2018 started with an initial prize pool of just 1.6 million dollars. To this figure was added 25% of the Battle Pass, extra and exclusive content for Dota 2 that fans can buy for several months. As a result, more than 23 million dollars were added to the prize, surpassing the record of 2017.
To date, no team has won the International twice. Now let’s see if anyone can win the championship twice this year in the Chinese capital.
