City Football Group (CFG), the ownership group behind Manchester City, New York City FC and a number of other football teams, has announced a collaboration with Blue United Corporation, the parent company of FIFA team Blue United eFC.

As a part of the collaboration, Blue United players will wear new sky blue playing kits that will have CFG branding. Moreover, the team’s talent will participate in a number of CFG fan events in the future.

According to the release, Blue United eFC will also participate on behalf of Yokohama F.Marinos in the Japanese eJLeague. The Japanese football club is partly owned by CFG.

Blue United eFC are the current FIFA champions in Asia. The team’s players have qualified for three out of the last four FIFAe World Cups and are ranked in the top five FIFA esports teams in the world.

This is the fourth season that Blue United eFC is participating in international FIFA Esports competitions, and its roster currently consists of two professional FIFA players: Agu and Tsakt. 

Tsakt, professional player of Blue United eFC, added: “I’m excited about the collaboration with City Football Group. Four years ago, we aimed to compete in international tournaments, but now we aim for global success. I consider Manchester City to be one of the world’s best teams in both football and esports, and I am confident our collaboration will be essential to our success at the global level.”

The City Football Group most notably collaborated with FaZe Clan on content and fan experiences. The Group has been a steady investor in esports since 2016 when it signed Kieran ‘Kez’ Brown to represent Manchester City at FIFA tournaments.
