The Call of Duty World League has announced that TCL will continue to be its TV partner for 2019. This is a continuation of their partnership for 2018.
TCL is excited to strengthen and reaffirm our commitment to gaming by continuing our partnership with the Call of Duty World League,” said. “With our award-winning 6-Series earning a reputation for premium picture and ultra-low input lag to allow the best possible gameplay, esports remains incredibly important to TCL. Being the official TV of the Call of Duty World League, TCL will continue to put gamers closer than ever to their entertainment and give them the most premium experience. We look forward to being a part of this season while providing fans with the opportunity to view all the action on our 6-Series TV.
Chris Larson, Senior Vice President, TCL.
What does a partnership entail for TCL?
TCL will have a booth in all four tournament locations showcasing the matches live on their televisions. This will allow the fans to watch their favourite game on the best possible screens. TCL will be featured in all official programming and have on-site gaming lounges. The Gaming lounges at Fort Worth, TX, Anaheim, CA, and CWL Finals will see giveaways as well as technological demonstrations. It is a perfect opportunity for TCL to expand their brand outreach amongst the young audience.
TCL is also the presenting sponsor of “Hot Mic” with CWL talent Clint “Maven” Evans. The ‘Hot Mic’ is a preview show for the CWL World Finals allowing fans to get a closer glimpse for their favourite players.
Call of Duty® World League continues to grow, and we’re excited to welcome back TCL as a sponsor of the league in 2019. CWL Las Vegas, our first event of this season, was our biggest start to a new season and the highest viewed CWL open event ever. We look forward to working alongside sponsors like TCL to help propel Call of Duty esports even further and provide fans with an unmatched experience both online and in person.
Brandon Snow, Senior Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer of Activision Blizzard Esports Leagues.
The Call of Duty World League.
The Call Of Duty World League is Activision Blizzard’s esports offering for Call of Duty. It does not have a franchise model like the Overwatch League. Instead, teams need to qualify for the Main event via multiple qualifiers. It does not guarantee economic stability for team owners and is not as lucrative as the Overwatch League. However, at the same time, there is a very low entry barrier to the League allowing for thriving competition.
For 2019, CWL already has a host of partnerships lined up. The list of sponsors includes ASTRO Gaming, Mountain Dew AMP Game Fuel, and ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG). The new CWL Season starts on January 16th with the Pro League Qualifiers.
- CWL Pro League Play-In – Jan. 16th to Jan 20th
- CWL Pro League – Feb. 4th to Jul. 4th
All the matches can be viewed on Twitch here.
