Montaner joins the agency after fulfilling a variety of roles in the esports industry over the last 20 years.
During his active competitive years, he won several major international competitions in Counter-Strike and was considered to be an all-time great in North American Counter-Strike. He transitioned briefly to Overwatch, then VALORANT, before retiring.
After retiring as a professional player, Montaner moved into esports coaching and management working with organisations such as FaZe Clan, T1, Florida International University, Miami Dade Community College, and more.
Montaner commented on his new Esports Talent Coordinator role: “I am excited to start the next part of my career in esports, especially with the agency I’ve been with for the last few years.
“Throughout my time in esports, I’ve always looked out for players and tried to best represent the interests of players, so it was extremely important to me that AFK valued this in the same way. To be able to continue to support players in this role with AFK is a blessing!”
AFK Pros is part of the AFK Group. In 2021, the UK-based agency rebranded to AFK Group in an attempt to distinguish its business units — AFK Creators, AFK Pros, and AFK Digital.
